Club Captain out for season...?
has been reported that Club Captain and Midfield Maestro Julian Anger
may be out for the remainder of the season after a sickening challenge
in a recent Quarter Final Cup game that left him in agonising pain.
The brutal tackle came in the second
half of the Parker Cup Quarter Finals against Golden Horse earlier this
month, Kings Heath were trailing 2-1 and desperately looking for a way
back into the game. Golden Horse are well known for their strong tackles,
and this was definately the case in the 65 minute of the match when
the incident happened. Anger said "The ball hadnt even gotten to
me and i was taken down from behind by a Golden Horse player, such a
reckless challenge happening on the pitch atall is not right, but it
going unpunished is not acceptable". Anger's early exit from the
pitch mimicked Kings Heath's early exit from the cup they presently
hold. Club Manager Steve Ivey said "With the clubs injury list
as long as it is, this is the LAST thing we needed, if it goes on i
will be forced to don the blue and black myself!" After doctors
treatment and working with physios its claimed that Anger has heavy
knee ligament trauma and unconfirmed reports that it may be as bad as
cruciate damage too.
